Title: HR/Payroll Coordinator

Position Summary: Under the direction of the Manager, Payroll, the HR/Payroll Coordinator performs a variety of confidential administrative support duties to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing for all College employees. The incumbent will be responsible for interpreting payroll advice forms; adding/updating/revising employee information in HRMS in a timely and accurate manner; reviewing payroll data via reports and various checking methods to identify errors and anomalies; preparing deduction reports and generating payment requests for deductions such as union dues, RRSPs, and garnishments; generating ROEs as required; answering routine questions; and providing guidance and support to employees on company policies as it relates to payroll in a professional and courteous manner.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will possess at minimum a 2 year diploma in general Business, Office Administration, or Human Resources, along with additional courses in computer applications or Payroll. Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification through the Canadian Payroll Association is preferred. Additional qualifications include: a minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll, ideally working with an in-house HRMS; exceptional organizational, planning and time management skills, while maintaining a high level of accuracy; knowledge of basic accounting principles and human resources concepts; and ability to be a strong team player with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
