The Office of Advancement cultivates and maintains support for the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work through their ongoing engagement of U of T’s outstanding global network of alumni, donors, volunteers, partners and faculty. Their work expands student and alumni experiences and increases research opportunities, directly helping the Faculty fulfill its vision of international leadership in improving health through innovation in research and education.
Reporting to the Director of Advancement, the incumbent coordinates a broad range of activities pertaining to fundraising priorities in the Office of Advancement. The incumbent tracks all major gifts in the Faculty and ensures all stages of the gift life cycle are appropriately completed, stewarded and processed in accordance with University policies and procedures.
Other duties include: finalizing gift agreements, drafting documents and generating reports, advising on best practices for donor agreements, and maintaining and updating databases and file systems.
Bachelor’s degree or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of four (4) years of experience in an administrative support role with demonstrated experience coordinating and tracking projects. Experience working in a fundraising or not-for-profit environment. Proven experience coordinating meetings and drafting and editing correspondence, documents and reports; experience supporting development, donations and stewardship; including coordinating donor agreements, and assisting with the development of donor appreciation documents. Experience interpreting, applying and advising on policies and procedures. Demonstrated experience in record maintenance, data management/report generation and managing comprehensive paper and digital filing systems. Experience with Arbor and web reporting or a similar fundraising database.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written; excellent project coordination, time-management, organizational and problem solving skills; excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Internet, and Outlook) including proficiency with databases and spreadsheets; and effective problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team and be highly attentive to accuracy and detail. Must have proven ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; work with confidential information; initiative and the ability to utilize resources and make sound decisions independently; ability to interpret and advise on policy and procedures; and tact, sensitivity, and discretion in dealing with varied clientele.

Appointment Type: Budget – Continuing
Pay Scale Group and Hiring Rate: USW Pay Band 11 — $60,687 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $77,607. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
