Situated in the beautiful Southern region of New Brunswick, the District was formed in 2012 and is one of the seven school districts in New Brunswick. Operating 69 public schools and overseeing the curriculum of licensed Early Learning Centres , the district serves children and youth ranging from birth to Grade 12. The district serves approximately 23,000 students, and 3,200 staff, which includes both teachers and support staff. The district is subdivided into 3 regions, called "education centres", Hampton (Former District 6), Saint John (Former District 8), and St. Stephen (Former District 10). ASD-S is headquartered in Saint John, New Brunswick.
