Ontario eSecondary School (OES) is a Ministry-inspected Ontario online high school offering flexible, high-quality credit courses and the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) to students worldwide.
We are seeking a professional, student-focused Academic Advisor to join our intake team. This role involves meeting prospective students and families via video calls to advise them on course selection, credit eligibility, and OSSD pathways (or other scenarios as they arise).
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct online intake meetings with prospective students and parents (video-based)
Review and discuss student transcripts, prior learning, and eligibility for PLAR credits or as applicable
Explain OES course offerings, policies, and services in a clear, supportive manner
Guide students toward appropriate programs or connect them to internal OES team members for next steps
Maintain accurate notes and ensure a seamless onboarding experience
Provide daytime and weekend availability to accommodate diverse time zones
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counselling, or a related field (preferred)
Familiarity with the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and PLAR processes (will be trained)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Comfortable using online meeting platforms and student information systems
Reliable internet connection and professional online presence
