Position Title: Manager, Human Rights Equity and Inclusion
Status: Full-Time
Hours: 37.5
Faculty/Department: Centre for Human Rights Equity and Inclusion
Campus/Location: North Campus
Salary: Band 7 (Min $88,421 Max $132.632)

What you will do:
The Manager, Human Rights Equity and Inclusion will foster equity, diversity, inclusion belonging within the College’s learning, working and living environments by using an integrative anti-discrimination approach. Key responsibilities will include: Manage Human Rights Complaints and Investigations Program, Manage Employment Equity Program, Manage Humer's Human Rights-related policies, work alongside the Director to implement Humber’s EDI strategic framework, participate in the development implementation and evaluation of the Centres outreach initiatives, communication strategies, promotional materials, educational programming and training, and represent Humber College effectively at local and national forums and will establish, strengthen and support partnerships that advance Humber College’s role in fostering an equitable Canada.

What you bring to the role:

  • Education - JD and or Master’s Degree in the Social Sciences, Education or related fields

3 to 5 years experience in a related field, along with:

  • Experience conducting human rights-related investigations in a complex, multi-stakeholder and unionized environment
  • Experience managing high performing teams


  • In-depth understanding of and experience with human rights-related legislation, policies and practices
  • High proficiency and understanding of human rights policies and practices, early intervention, mediation, and workplace restoration
  • Critical human rights and equity analysis within an intersectional framework
  • Deep knowledge and skills to respond to anti-Indigenous and anti-Black racism
  • Understand and respond to the negative impact of interpersonal aggressions and microaggressions on Indigenous Peoples, Black/African people and members of equity-deserving groups as well as how these types of aggressions undermine the College’s mandate
  • Strong and effective conflict resolution management
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to key systemic issues and challenges facing the diverse communities in Ontario
  • Understanding of legislative requirements and concerns in the postsecondary sector
  • Knowledge and understanding of disability-related issues and their intersection with other identities including race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, age, marital status, family status, etc.
  • Strong research and assessment capabilities
  • Outstanding facilitation skills as well as written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to details
  • Research, project management, statistical analysis, and resource development capabilities
  • A keen ability to engage with various stakeholders and members of the College community
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications, database management, statistical analysis, online survey tools and Internet research capabilities
  • Available to work on weekends and late evenings
  • Sense of humour
