We’re looking for passionate, dedicated RECE’s to join our growing team in Toronto!

Sentient is an established childcare staffing agency serving the GTA and Ottawa. We connect our 300 highly qualified RECE and ECA staff to meaningful positions in the childcare industry. We have over 1,000 clients throughout the GTA.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Childcare Centre Support

  • Providing support to the childcare centre staff
  • Coordinating meals/snacks/sleep schedules
  • Teaching and following the daily routine of the assigned centre
  • Meet with leaders/managers at each centre to ensure learning initiatives and daily routines are maintained
  • Adhering to policies, procedures and guidelines as mandated by the Ministry of Education

Working with Children

  • Providing a caring and safe environment
  • Monitoring and supervising children
  • Providing valuable learning and knowledge to children through fun and playful activities
  • Addressing the physical needs of the children
  • Ensuring the social and emotional growth of the children at the centre
  • Consistently finding innovative ways of keeping the children actively engaged
  • Adapting the daily activities to suit the needs of the children at each placement

Service Excellence

  • Meeting shift times and schedules
  • Cultivating relationships with parents/teachers
  • Ensuring professionalism and decorum as a representative of Sentient

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS 

Successful candidates should be registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators. Previous experience in a childcare centre is ideal. Alongside this, you should be patient and caring with strong communication skills and the ability to use creative ways to interact and engage with children.

  • Knowledge of child development at various ages
  • Attention to detail and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to commute within the Toronto region
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Standard First Aid and CPR-C
  • Education: ECE Diploma or Degree
  • RECE Certification or application in progress
