FUNCTION & DUTIES:
Under the supervision of Coordinator of the Nunavik Sivunitsavut (NS) Program, the Education Consultant will:
· Oversee curriculum development for the proposed French Nunavik Sivunitsavut certificate program;
· Find French resources and teaching material for NS courses in French.
· Research French Cégep requirements and special accreditation conditions.
· Work with Supervisor to identify the best suited CEGEP for accreditation;
· Seek, select, and prepare qualified instructors to implement the new program;
· Recruit qualified students;
· Seek funding for future implementation phases from various sources and potential partners;
· Any other tasks deemed relevant and necessary by the Director or coordinator of Student Services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
University Bachelor’s degree in education, administration, social sciences, or related fields.
The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.
