The Ojibwe Language Teacher will provide Ojibwe language instruction and support the implementation of the York Region District School Board's First Nation, Métis and Inuit Education Strategy at northern YRDSB schools in coordination with the Regional Ojibwe Language Team, including the Ojibwe Language Coordinator.
Length of Assignment: This is a three-year term position with an optional additional two years. Upon completion of this term assignment, the candidate will return to a position in a school through the transfer or regional surplus process as per the regional staffing timelines.

Important Information for CUPE 1734 Members:
As per the Collective Agreement (A.11.7), an Employee who is successful in filling a permanent twelve (12) month job posting will remain in such position for a minimum of twelve (12) months. An Employee who is successful in filling a permanent ten (10) month job posting will remain in such position for a minimum of the remainder of the school year. The above requirements may be waived with permission from the Superintendent responsible for Human Resource Services.
