Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor install, replace, update and maintain all Board plumbing, provide support for the Board plumbing operation, work with/assist other trades and supervise part time help.
Major Duties:
1. Install, replace, update and maintain all Board plumbing
2. Maintain Heating Systems
3. Maintain Sprinkler Systems
4. Maintain Computers/Electronics
5. Work with/assist other trades as required
6. Supervise part-time help
7. Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Equipment Used:
Plumbing tools: power augers, acetylene torches, electric welding equipment, pumps, acid pumps, assorted wrenches and cutting tools, ladders, scaffolding, vacuum, cleaners, gas leak detection equipment, electric drain cleaning equipment, large air compressor, truck/van
Other: kango guns, hoisting equipment, jacks, cherry pickers.
Qualifications:
1. Secondary School Diploma and completion of plumbing apprenticeship
2. Ontario Certificate of Qualification as Gas Fitter/G1 as issued under the Technical Safety and Standards Act;
3. Valid Drivers' License
4. Familiarity with W.H.M.I.S., Occupational Health and Safety regulations, fire regulations, building codes, Department of Health regulations, plumbing codes and general knowledge of other trades.
5. The ability to communicate effectively with staff, students and public.
This is a 40 hour per week, afternoon position.
