Our vibrant Junior School is looking for a spectacular Grade 4 and Homeroom teacher to join our grade 3 to 6 team. This is a full-time permanent position commencing August 2025. In addition to teaching the core subjects the homeroom teacher will foster a welcoming, caring, inclusive and collaborative space to best support students.
Position Requirements
● A passion for teaching this age group;
● A kind, enthusiastic and positive nature;
● A commitment to Inquiry and Project-Based Learning strategies in a Cooperative Learning environment;
A passion for children's literature and love of reading;
A passion for building students' literacy skills;
● Strong aptitude for being the main point of contact for outreach and communication with parents/guardians and offering support and guidance to students
● Strong relationship-building skills, excellent communication, organization and collaboration skills;
● Demonstrated ability to foster an inclusive school culture, to build a sense of belonging for each student;
● Possess a high level of flexibility, energy, creativity, and a sense of humour;
● Model a strong work-ethic, a high standard of commitment and professionalism in all interactions with colleagues, students and parents;
● A commitment to the co-curricular life of the school;
● A willingness to perform other duties and supervision as required.
Qualifications and Experience
● A minimum of two years of relevant teaching experience preferred
● Ontario Teaching Certificate
● A Bachelor of Education in good standing eligible with the Ontario College of Teachers
