Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Education Manager to lead our Education program. The Education Manager plays a key role in developing, overseeing, and implementing TPP’s Education program. This role involves leading a team, managing partnerships, developing educational curriculum, building educational materials to enhance education within provincial health curriculums across Canada, and supporting outreach efforts. The Education Manager will build and develop a framework to ensure that our programs support people experiencing period poverty and that we are equipping youth service providers, teachers, and people working in community with the language, tools and knowledge to create period positive spaces leading to menstrual equity. The Education Manager ensures that TPP’s mission aligns with program execution, supporting partner organizations, and expanding impact across diverse communities.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Strategy

  • Create and implement a comprehensive strategy for TPP’s Education program, including strategic goals and key performance indicators.

  • Development of an evaluation framework for the education program.

  • Development of a program delivery framework to ensure education and outreach programs are prioritized for equity seeking communities and those experiencing period poverty.

  • Manage the education budget and ensure effective resource allocation.

  • Act as TPP’s spokesperson on education-related matters, providing expert insights on menstrual health education.

  • Bring contemporary menstrual health issues to the organization, discussing relevant topics from news and classroom experiences.

  • Develop a plan for evaluation and oversee the evaluation consultant.

  • Consult on TPP projects involving education (e.g., MHDay Period Friendly Schools Kit).

  • Serve as the education lead for grant reports, providing details and context around educational activities.

  • Serve as the point of contact for the Online Period Tracker app developer - https://www.theperiodpurse.com/mnationapp.html.

Curriculum Development & Outreach

  • Oversee the creation of educational materials, including slide decks, brochures, printed resources, and videos. Regularly review and update educational modules to reflect new research, reports, and statistics.

  • Develop partnerships with large-scale education organizations (e.g., OPHEA, school boards).

  • Develop, oversee, and regularly update educational curriculum. Review and refresh educational modules on an ongoing basis, incorporating new studies, reports, and statistics.

  • Assess overlap and gaps in provincial health curriculums across Canada and develop strategy for supplemental menstrual health education materials.

  • Manage relationships with community partners to expand the reach of the Education program.

  • Conduct and oversee educational presentations (virtual and in-person) across Canada, with a focus on Ontario.

  • Work with the Outreach team to ensure alignment between education initiatives and period product distribution.

Team Leadership & Support

  • Lead and mentor a team of two education professionals plus a team of volunteer education facilitators.

  • Set weekly, monthly, and quarterly team goals.

  • Conduct weekly check-ins and facilitate weekly team meetings. 

  • Sit on the Leadership team and represent the education team.

  • Approve time-off requests, ADP timecards, and expenses.

  • Oversee onboarding and training of new team members and education volunteers.

 

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Manage the education@ inbox, responding to general inquiries and forwarding presentation requests.

  • Work closely with the Volunteer Manager and Education team to coordinate and book educational sessions and events.

  • Work with the team to ensure maintenance and updates in CRMs (Keela and/or AirTable).

  • Oversee data collection efforts, including surveys, focus groups, and interviews, to assess program impact. Ensure Facilitators collect and submit pre- and post-surveys for program evaluation.

  • Maintain records of community partnerships and program engagement.

  • Assist in compiling reports for funders as required.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Post-secondary education in Education, Public Health, Social Work, Gender Studies, Adult Education, Project Management, or a related field (preferred).

  • 1-3 years of experience in program coordination, community education, or a similar role.

  • Minimum 1-2 years of progressive management experience, including staff leadership.

  • Strong experience in curriculum development, with an understanding of provincial health education standards preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in public speaking and facilitation.

  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.

  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and menstrual health advocacy.

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Slack, AirTable, survey tools, and virtual meeting platforms.

  • Ability to travel within Ontario as needed.
