We’re recruiting passionate Primary (K–6) teachers from Canada and the US to live, work, and explore in one of the most livable cities in the world. 

Start Dates: 

  • September 2025  

  • January 2026  

The Australian school year runs January to December, with breaks in April, July, and September—and a long summer holiday from mid-December to late January. 

 

What You’ll Be Doing: 

  • Teach engaging lessons aligned to the Victorian Curriculum (we’ll support your transition to it!) 

  • Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom culture 

  • Work collaboratively with a welcoming staff team 

  • Contribute to school life and take part in extracurriculars 

  • Grow professionally in an international environment 

Whether you’re a newly qualified teacher or an experienced educator looking to bring your expertise abroad, this is your chance to combine teaching and travel in a truly rewarding way. 

 

Who We’re Looking For: 

We’re seeking qualified educators who: 

  • Hold a Bachelor of Education (Primary) OR a teaching degree (e.g., BA + BEd) 

  • Completed a minimum 45-day supervised practicum 

  • Are confident teaching Kindergarten to Grade 6 

  • Bring strong communication, adaptability, and a sense of adventure! 

  • Are eligible for an Australian visa (see below) 

 

Visa Pathways: 

To teach in Australia, you'll need to apply for one of the following visas: 

  • 417 Working Holiday Visa 

    • Must apply before turning 36 

    • Grants 1 year of working rights 

  • 189 or 190 Skilled Independent/State Sponsored Visa 

    • Must be under 45 

    • Points-tested with longer processing time (10–14 months) 

  • 482 Temporary Skill Shortage Visa 

    • Only available for certain secondary subjects, not Primary
