Full-Time Permanent
Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000

The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing compelling content that elevates the school across all social media platforms. This role requires a strong understanding of social media marketing, including current trends, best practices, and performance reporting. The ideal candidate will stay attuned to what’s happening around the school and proactively capture moments that showcase our community in an authentic and engaging way. Working closely with the Marketing and Communications team, the Social Media Specialist will ensure social media efforts align with broader campaigns, strategies, and objectives across the school and other marketing channels.

What You’ll Do:

  • In collaboration with internal departments, builds and manages the school’s social media strategy and content calendar to highlight our academic and co-curricular program.
  • Creates, edits and posts content across the school’s social media channels (Instagram and LinkedIn) to increase brand awareness, drive engagement and reach. 
  • Stays up-to-date with social media trends and platform updates, and provides strategic recommendations on which trends align best with the school’s voice, mission, and strategy.
  • Works closely with employees to stay abreast of what’s happening around the school and to share classroom learning, community events and school news on social media. 
  • Uses social channels to tell the stories of key strategic initiatives, including Athletics and Boarding. 
  • Serves as a ‘roving reporter’ to uncover and develop compelling stories across the school community.
  • Monitors social media conversations and reports areas of concern to school leaders when necessary.
  • Measures and analyzes social media performance, and provides insights and recommendations to improve effectiveness.
  • Elevates brand awareness, fosters community engagement and ensures alignment with broader marketing goals.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in communications, marketing, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience required.
  • Experience implementing integrated social media strategies that drive strategic business objectives.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends during the school year.
  • Having a strong personal social media presence is a plus but not necessary. 
  • Demonstrated experience creating innovative social media content.
  • Comprehensive understanding of social media platforms and associated metrics.
  • Knowledgeable about industry best practices and trends in social media.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Creative, resourceful, enthusiastic, a self-starter and a team player.
