Security Guard
Permanent - Part-Time
(Weekend Shifts)

Shift available:
3:30 - 11:30 pm

Wage: $22.00/hour

The Security Guard is responsible for providing front-line security services for a historical, educational facility. The goal is to maintain a safe and secure environment for the BSS community, which includes students, staff, boarders (students who live on-site), families, visitors and service providers. The Security Guard will meet, greet and direct all arrivals in a friendly, professional and efficient manner and will follow the school’s security procedures including completing patrols as scheduled. 

Specific Accountabilities 

  • Provides professional and friendly customer service and direction to members of the BSS community and the public
  • Tracks and monitors visitors and assigns appropriate security documentation
  • Establishes routine interior and exterior patrols during shift
  • Performs regular audit of CCTV system to ensure all cameras are recording and reports any defective cameras to Facilities team
  • Accepts deliveries.
  • Adheres to all security policies and procedures
  • Works collaboratively with the Facilities team to respond to emergencies (i.e. fire alarms, water leaks, power failures, etc.) to ensure proper protocols are adhered to
  • Follows effective and appropriate Health and Safety practices
  • Must have a Valid Ontario Security Guard License 
  • Successful completion of relevant college diploma i.e. Police Foundation Diploma and/or equivalent experience considered an asset
