 Position Title: Front-End Web Developer (FEWD)
Status: Appendix D, 8-month Contract
Hours: 35 hours per week

Payband/Hourly Rate: Payband F, $27.93 – $32.38

What you will do:
Reporting to the Associate Dean, Digital Learning, the Front-End Web Developer (FEWD) will play a critical role when it comes to building flipped/hybrid/online courses and relevant digital content, and other Innovative Learning (IL) related websites and web experiences, as well as support other IL and college-wide digital initiatives.
Working collaboratively with other course build team members, specifically with the senior front-end web developer, the FEWD will play an important role in supporting various innovative learning environments in terms of building digital, web-based content, specifically for the College’s online courses, while occasionally supporting and maintaining back-end databases.
The FEWD represents one-fourth of a standard online course build team and is a critical part of online course builds and related digital learning projects.

What you bring to the role:


  • The successful candidate will have a minimum of a three-year diploma in Front-End Web Development, Multimedia Design and Production or Back-end Web Development.


  • The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience in a professional communications environment emphasizing web development along with graphic design, and digital media production, with some knowledge of database development and maintenance and digital content production including, but not limited to, app development and VR/AR development.
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS/CSS3, jQuery, JavaScript, jQuery UI, WordPress, Drupal, Bootstrap, Foundations, PHP, SQL, MySQL, Git, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Audition and various other Adobe tools,
  • Learning Management System knowledge/experience is an asset, as is familiarity with Mac and Windows platforms.
