Job Details

Position Title: Professor, Computer Science
Status: Part-Time
Duration of Need: 2022 Winter Semester (January – April) and/or 2022 Summer Semester (May – August)
Faculty/Department: Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology
Campus/Location: North Campus & International Graduate School
Salary: Academic start salaries are determined by qualifications and years of related experience.

What you will do:
Reporting to the Associate Dean, the Professor, Computer Science will be required to teach courses in the Information and Communication Technology Cluster within the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology programs, particularly for the courses and programs related to the fields of Computer Science, Software Engineering and Software Development at the North and IGS (International Graduate School) campuses. In addition to teaching, responsibilities will include curriculum development; lesson planning; assessing student progress and achievement; class management, hands-on practical training; and other activities related to teaching and learning. The Professor, Computer Science will be expected to establish an effective learning environment and work as a collaborative team member.

With the expansion and growth of Humber programs in Computer Science and Software Development areas, Part-Time Professors are invited for all areas of Computer Science and Software Engineering, including Modern Web Technologies, Multi-Platform Mobile Programming, High-level Programming Languages, Application Testing, Advanced Database Programming, Web Application Development, IoT Systems, Sensor Networks, Cybersecurity, Computer Forensics, Cryptography, Java Programming, Database Programming with Java, Oracle Database, J2EE Components, Data Analytics, Machine Learning and Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Image Processing and Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence for Business Decision Making, etc.

What you bring to the role:

Education:

  • M.Sc. (Ph.D. preferred) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Software Development, Software Engineering or a related field of study.

Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of industry experience in relevant field.
  • Must have polytechnic post-secondary teaching experience, or equivalent experience as a trainer in industry
