Manager, Technology Infrastructure within the
ICT department.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Reporting to the Senior Manager, Infrastructure & Operations, this position is responsible for the management, optimization and strategic planning of enterprise computing systems, cloud solutions, and networking infrastructure. The Manager will successfully lead a team, as well as work collaboratively with cross-functional, integrated teams and various lines of business to enable technological solutions to meet administrative and academic requirements.
- Managing and maintaining enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, networking systems, and related technology services
- Ensuring cybersecurity, resiliency, compliance, risk management, and vulnerability remediation across technology environments
- Leading and supervising technical staff, including analysts, system administrators, and technicians
- Overseeing system performance, operational standards, procedures, documentation, and service quality
- Planning and managing technology projects, infrastructure renewals, and contributions to long-term technology strategy
- Allocating resources and balancing project delivery, operational support, incident management, and service escalations
- Ensuring adherence to change management processes and participating in governance activities such as the Change Advisory Board
- Coordinating system maintenance, upgrades, and response to critical incidents, including after-hours support when required
- Managing training, knowledge transfer, and technical support capability development.
- Providing leadership through performance management, coaching, workload management, recruitment, onboarding, and staff development
- Collaborating with senior leadership, peers, Human Resources, and stakeholders to support operational and strategic objectives
- Preparing reports, business cases, risk assessments, and presentations for leadership decision-making
- Leading technology procurement activities, including specifications, vendor evaluations, contracts, renewals, and purchasing
- Managing budgets, forecasting future technology needs, and monitoring expenditures.
- Staying current on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices
- Perform other related duties as assigned or required
REQUIREMENTS: - Minimum of four (4) years' post-secondary education in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of four (4) years relevant experience working in a similar capacity in a large enterprise ICT infrastructure environment
- Strong architecture and design experience to analyze complex ICT problems, propose effective computing system and networking infrastructures, software or cloud solutions, integration of technologies, related operational processes and applying business vision and direction
- Possess strong leadership and management skills, ability to motivate, mentor and coach a team of technical professionals and support large initiatives and operational workflows
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills to effectively communicate with various stakeholders in both technical and non-technical terms
- Possess excellent organizational, analytical, time management, and presentation skills
- Ability to identify potential problems, make decisions and proactively formulate a troubleshooting and remediation plan before it escalates
- Experience, knowledge and skills with system management of Windows server operating systems, Microsoft system technologies and cloud solutions (Azure, Microsoft 365, SQL), Active Directory, VMware, Storage Area Networks (SAN), and digital certificates
- Experience, knowledge and skills with network administration, monitoring, protocols, troubleshooting tools, cabling, devices, firewalls, communications technologies, wireless devices and software (Aruba), security devices (Palo Alto), and networking devices (Cisco)
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge with cybersecurity concepts, technologies, and best practices
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Aruba, CISSP) are an asset
- Occasional travel to GTA locations is required (eligibility for mileage reimbursement)
- Ability to work outside of core office hours, as required
