Job Description

The Ontario eSecondary School is an Ontario Ministry of Education asynchronous private online high school, authorized to grant the diploma and credits towards the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) since 2017. 

We are currently looking to hire experienced Intermediate/Senior Ontario Certified teachers (OCT) with at least 2+ years of teaching experience to be a part of our growing team.  If you are well-organized, enjoy the finer details and love working remotely, then we would love to hear from you!

We are currently recruiting for part-time/contract-based instructors with the following teachables in the I/S division:

·       English (ENG4U, ENG3U, ENG2D, ENL1W)

·       Math (MCR3U, MHF4U, MCV4U & MDM4U)

·       Chemistry (SCH3U, SCH4U)

We are looking for teachers who both are qualified AND have experience teaching at the secondary level in the above mentioned courses at this time. Candidates who have eLearning experience and/or have worked in an online learning environments such as Moodle are preferred.  

+ Bonus Opportunity: ACADEMIC ADVISING ROLE w/ GUIDANCE TEAM

We are seeking a professional, student-focused Academic Advisor to join our intake team. This role involves meeting prospective students and families via video calls to advise them on course selection, credit eligibility, and OSSD pathways (or other scenarios as they arise).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct online intake meetings with prospective students and parents (video-based)

  • Review and discuss student transcripts, prior learning, and eligibility for PLAR credits or as applicable

  • Explain OES course offerings, policies, and services in a clear, supportive manner

  • Guide students toward appropriate programs or connect them to internal OES team members for next steps

  • Maintain accurate notes and ensure a seamless onboarding experience

  • Provide daytime and weekend availability to accommodate diverse time zones

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counselling, or a related field (preferred)

  • Familiarity with the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and PLAR processes (will be trained)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Comfortable using online meeting platforms and student information systems as a part of workflow ie. Google Drive, Docs, Meet etc

  • Reliable internet connection and professional online presence

Position Type:

  • Remote (work from home)

  • Part-time with flexible hours

  • Must be available for daytime and weekend appointments
