With a staff of 14,000, the TCDSB is a dynamic school board and is seeking atemporary twelve (12 ) month contract position for an Officer, Superintendent 's Office, Safe School, Curriculum Leadership & Innovation within the Safe School, Curriculum, Leadership & Innovation department.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Reporting to and under the direction of the Superintendent, Safe School, Curriculum, Leadership & innovation, this position plays a vital role in providing administrative project support in the efficient operation of the Superintendent's Office.

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and operational support including calendar management, correspondence, meeting coordination, and records management in accordance with Board policies
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive student, staff, and departmental information
  • Coordinate and support Safe Schools processes, including suspensions, suspensions pending possible expulsions, appeals, threat assessment processes, safe schools plans, and related documentation in alignment with Board policies and legislation
  • Assist with the ongoing support of the Progressive Discipline/Safe Schools platform for all Board staff, providing troubleshooting assistance, and ensuring that staff are equipped with the necessary skills to effectively use the system for their daily operations
  • Liaise with principals, Board staff, parents/guardians, community agencies, and external partners (e.g., Ministry of Education, City of Toronto, Toronto Police Service, advisory committees, and community organizations)
  • Facilitate effective and collaborative communication across departments, schools, and external stakeholders
  • Prepare and distribute correspondence, Board reports, agendas, minutes, newsletters, and other departmental communications including websites
  • Assist in the preparation, monitoring, and administration of departmental budgets, including Ministry grants, SAP cheque requisitions, budget transfers, and financial tracking
  • Oversee divisional administrative processes related to staffing, scheduling, delegation of workload, vacation records, and provision of backup administrative support
  • Support curriculum initiatives including Ministry reporting requirements for projects and programs
  • Develop, implement, and refine administrative tools, systems, and processes to improve efficiency and service delivery
  • Respond to and appropriately redirect inquiries from parents, schools, and stakeholders in accordance with established procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum two-year College Diploma in Office Administration, Secretarial Science, or a related field
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in an administrative support role
  • Demonstrated experience working with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and frequent interruptions
  • Proven ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential matters with diplomacy and professionalism
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications and Google Suite
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to work outside core office hours as required

ASSETS:

  • Knowledge of Safe Schools legislation, policies, and procedures
  • Experience with SAP, E-Scribe, or similar enterprise systems
  • Experience supporting curriculum or instructional program portfolios
