Appleby College is seeking a highly organized and student-focused Athletics Coordinator to support the day-to-day operations and delivery of the School’s dynamic athletics and co-curricular sports programs. This role is ideal for someone who finds purpose in supporting students as they build lifelong habits of physical activity, resilience, and healthy competition.

As the Athletics Coordinator, you will bring a proactive and organized approach to ensure athletics programs run smoothly, safely, and in alignment with School and league expectations. Your strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to build positive relationships will contribute to a high-quality experience for students. 


 
HOW YOU WILL SUCCEED:

  • Support the Director, Athletics in the planning and execution of a diverse and high-quality athletics and co-curricular sports program
  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of competitive and instructional athletics, including scheduling, transportation, travel, meals, and facilities
  • Ensure accurate and timely management of athletic schedules, event bookings, and league requirements across multiple systems
  • Play a key role in hosting athletic events, managing logistics, officials, communications, and creating a safe, welcoming environment
  • Oversee uniforms, equipment, and inventory management while maintaining strong relationships with vendors and service providers
  • Coordinate team travel, off-campus rentals, and inter-school billing related to league play and hosted competitions
  • Support faculty coaches through clear communication of expectations, schedules, guidelines, and league protocols
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across the School to deliver seamless athletics programming and student experiences
  • Assist with budget tracking, user fees, and student billing in partnership with the Business Office
  • Support risk management practices, safety protocols, and compliance with CISAA, OFSAA, OPHEA, and Hockey Canada requirements
  • Contribute to student recognition, awards, and major athletics events
  • Promote coaching development opportunities and assist with maintaining athletics communications and social media presence
  • Serve as a Student Advisor, supporting students’ academic progress and co-curricular engagement
  • Actively contribute to student life by fulfilling Student Advisor responsibilities and leading co-curricular activities and a club

  

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline
  • Previous experience in athletic administration, program coordination, or sports management
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proven experience coordinating events, schedules, and logistics
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and scheduling or athletics management systems
  • Experience working in an educational or independent school environment is considered an asset
  • A flexible, proactive approach and willingness to support evening and weekend programming
  • High standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity
  • A flexible approach to support occasional evening, weekend, and off-campus athletics events.
