Contract Type: Full Time - 1.0 FTE, Renewable

Salary Range: $74,000 – $115,000 (plus benefits package)

Position Summary

UNISUS International School is seeking a Senior Math / Physics Teacher to teach upper-year secondary students for the 2026/27 Academic Year. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality instruction in senior-level Mathematics and Physics, supporting students in developing strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

While experience with the IB Diploma Programme is an asset, it is not required. Educators with experience teaching senior Math and/or Physics in other recognized curricula are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging instruction in senior-level Mathematics and Physics

  • Foster conceptual understanding, inquiry, and real-world application of mathematical and scientific principles

  • Assess and evaluate student learning using formative and summative assessment methods

  • Support students’ preparation for internal and external assessments, where applicable

  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback

  • Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum alignment and student success

  • Create a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, respect, and academic excellence

  • Participate in professional development, curriculum review, and school events

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)

  • Teaching certification recognized in an English-speaking country

  • Must hold, or be eligible for, a BC Certificate of Qualification or an Independent School Subject-Restricted Teaching Certificate

  • Experience teaching senior secondary Math and/or Physics

  • Experience teaching IB Diploma Programme courses is an asset, but not required

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to differentiate instruction and integrate technology to enhance learning

  • Experience in an independent, international, or multicultural school setting is considered an asset

 

Hours of Work

  • Full-time teaching position aligned with the academic calendar, including Winter, Spring & Summer Breaks

  • Additional hours required for parent meetings, professional development, co-curricular activities and school events
