The Durham District School Board acknowledges that many Indigenous Nations have longstanding relationships, both historic and modern, with the territories upon which our school board and schools are located. Durham Continuing Education is the Durham District School Board's program for its adult daytime program as well as many continuing education programs. While the core business of Continuing Education is funded by the Ministry of Education, partnerships with MLITSD, IRCC, MCI and MCSS support Continuing Education programming.

DCE is currently seeking applicants for LBS Supply Instructor

Location: DCE - Oshawa - 120 Centre Street South, Oshawa, ON, L1H 4A3 (Please Note: This is an in-person position)

J ob Summary:

As an LBS Supply Instructor you will follow lesson plans that could include assessment and instruction of adults on literacy, numeracy and basic skills in person within a small class setting. This is a non-credit program that follows the Ontario Adult Literacy Curriculum Framework (OALCF).

Qualifications:

1. University Undergraduate Degree, preferably in English and/or Math.

2. Ontario teacher qualifications in good standing preferred.

3. Experience teaching adult literacy and/or numeracy programs, and/or special education is an asset.

Reports To: Non-Credit Supervisor and Principal of Durham Continuing Education
