Track and Field Coach
Part-Time - Contract

At The Bishop Strachan School, athletics is a vital part of the student experience. It is a chance for girls to develop new skills, self-esteem, sportsmanship, leadership and grit. BSS is part of the Conference of Independent Schools Athletic Association, providing athletes with challenging competitive experiences. Our outstanding facilities include a turf field (the first of any girls’ school in Ontario), two gyms, a pool, dance studios, a rock-climbing wall and a fitness centre.

We are seeking an exceptional and committed Track and Field coach to lead students ages 14 - 18. Below is more information: 

Location:                BSS Gym, St. Michaels College School and other off site venues 

Dates:                     March 23 - May 12, 2026

Practices:                Monday and Wednesday mornings - 7:15 am - 8:30 am

                                

Games:                   Afternoons (times and locations TBD)

Ages:                      14 - 18

Size of Team:         20 - 30

Payment:                $3,000 Stipend 

Who You Are:

  • Competitive background in hurdles or jumping events or experience coaching hurdles or jumping events at the high school level 
  • Ability to contribute to a positive and inclusive team culture
  • Ensure a safe training environment and adherence to all school/league policies 
  • Plan and deliver effective, safe and engaging hurdle/jumping specific training sessions
  • Teach proper hurdle/sprint/jumping technique, sprint mechanics and race strategy 
  • NCCP Certification is preferred 
    • Making Ethical Decisions 
    • Making Head Way in Sports
