Specialist, School Support within the
Human Resources department.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Reporting to and under the direction of Senior Manager, Learning & Development, the primary function of this job is to assess and coordinate training needs for school secretaries, provide day-to-day support to school secretaries as needed and identify the necessary skills and abilities of school secretaries to assist with the recruitment and onboarding of secretaries new to the role.
- Ensure that school secretaries are conversant with TCDSB corporate applications and business workflows
- To coordinate, develop and design, in conjunction with subject matter experts, professional learning opportunities and ensure alignment with system needs and priorities
- Work closely with the project team to ensure smooth deployment of new applications/tools
- Determine school secretary needs for training and conduct and/or coordinate group and individual training sessions and tutorials
- Schedule, plan and facilitate professional development sessions for school secretaries
- Provide on-going support (e.g., visits, phone calls, on-line meetings, etc.) to all school secretaries
- Liaise with Talent Acquisition staff regarding the recruitment and onboarding of supply secretaries
- To coordinate delivery of induction programs for newly appointed school secretaries in understanding their role within schools
- To offer direct or indirect support through coaching and resolving conflicts to ensure respectful workplaces within schools
- To review Ministry reporting requirements and coordinate with school leadership to provide accurate and relevant data and system reporting to ensure consistency in reporting.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required
REQUIREMENTS: - Minimum three (3) year College Diploma in Business or Communications Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum two (2) years of related experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of SAP modules, SharePoint web page design, Concur, MFA, and CORITY, ASPEN, ZSEMS
- Experience with instructional design and delivery using multiple models such as classroom, video, and self-directed learning an asset
- Experience with training, evaluation, and assessment of user knowledge
- Proven exceptional ability in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, etc.) at an advanced level
- Self motivated, able to work independently as well as with teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- May require travel to different school sites (eligibility for mileage reimbursement)
