Computer Science and Science Teacher
80% 1 Year Contract
Commencing August 31, 2026

We are looking for a skilled educator of Computer Science & Science who is committed to reflection, and pedagogical innovation, particularly in block-based and text-based programming environments with a proven record of teaching fundamentals of computer programming and the application of coding to real world problem-solving. This position will require a willingness to engage in ongoing professional learning in a collaborative environment. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Teach 3 ICS3U/ICS4U courses and one SNC1W course
  • Prepare lesson plans, outlines and assessments using inquiry and problem-based learning that engages students, challenges them, and meetings the subject-specific outcomes and expectations
  • Ability to differentiate lesson plans based on the needs of your students  
  • Participate in co-curricular activities including coaching, clubs, trips and participating in the school community as a whole  
  • Communicate effectively with parents about all aspects of the overall program and the individual learning of each student  
  • Integrate diversity, equity, inclusiveness and belonging into the classroom learning environment  
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel empowered to take risks 
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and assessment practices with best practices in Math and Computer Science education.
  • Engage in ongoing professional learning and reflection to continuously improve teaching practices and student outcomes.

Who You Are:

  • Must have an Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certificate, with qualifications in Computer Science and Science
  • Intermediate/Senior teaching qualifications   
  • Experience in block-based and text-based programming environments 
  • Strong proficiency in Google Suite; knowledge of Brightspace an asset
  • Strong pedagogical skills and a commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset

Annual compensation is based on our Faculty Grid, which factors in qualifications and up to 12 years of teaching experience:

  • Entry to 6 Years: $69,000 – $98,000
  • Over 6 Years: $99,000 – $134,000
  • Future Growth: Rates are set to increase for the 2026–2027 academic year.
