Enrichment Teacher, Summer Programs
Compensation: Starts at $1250/Week
The purpose of an Enrichment Instructor, Summer Enrichment Programs is to teach a one-week enrichment course in the Summer Enrichment Programs, engaging students in the summer learning environment and delivering Appleby College curriculum. Appleby Teachers are expected to have a high level of expertise in their teaching discipline and are effective, stimulating, and competent facilitators of the educational process.
Designed for students aged 12 to 17, our small and dynamic class sizes ensure a personalized learning experience that meets the needs of each learner. Junior Enrichment programs accommodate ages 12 to 14, focusing predominately on Grade 8 curriculum, as well as incorporating scheduled active time to address the learning needs of our youngest students. Our Senior Enrichment programs accommodate ages 15 to 17, focusing predominately on Grade 11 curriculum content and are more academically focused than the Junior programs. Both age ranges include fun and dynamic activities to engage and connect with students on each specific subject matter.
All Enrichment programs run on-campus, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., unless otherwise specified. Please visit our website for a full listing of courses, including descriptions and dates.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Explore the powerful math behind effective decision-making, competition, and cooperation. In this program, you’ll dive into the core ideas of Game Theory - the same framework used in economics, politics, psychology, and even global negotiations. You’ll break down famous strategic puzzles like the Prisoner’s Dilemma and the Tragedy of the Commons, sharpening your ability to think ahead, weigh outcomes, and make smarter choices. This is a hands-on, highly applied experience: you’ll test your strategies in real scenarios and competitive games such as Settlers of Catan, card challenges, and team-based cooperation tasks. By the end, you’ll not only understand the theory - you’ll know how to use it in real life.
Mathematics (Functions MCR3U and Data Management MDM4U):
Mathematical Modeling: Game Theory is fundamentally a mathematical model, reinforcing the use of functions and logic to model real-world situations and predict outcomes, which is a core expectation in MCR3U.
Probability and Decision Making: Analyzing strategies involves calculating expected value and probability, directly supporting content in Grade 12 Data Management (MDM4U) but providing critical preparation for Grade 11
