Join Spirit of Math as it opens its first campus in Windsor, ON as a Level 3 Assistant Teacher. The entire campus will begin operations opening only one day a week and add additional days as enrollment grows. All roles will be part-time initially. This role is a steppingstone to becoming a teacher within the franchise and potential for full-time opportunities as the campus grows.
Our Level 3 Assistant Teacher is an adult instructional support role that supports classroom instruction more actively and will likely support our older grades. The successful candidate from interviews will be trained to teach at our Campus as a substitute teacher, if the need arises.
Again, this role is designed as a developmental pathway to becoming a Primary Teacher with classroom exposure and performance-based progression.
Eligibility and Requirements
Must be 18+, with a Bachelor’s Degree, and will be hired as an employee.
Successful completion of mandatory background screening (vulnerability check)
Completion and passing of Spirit of Math’s online Fundamentals of Math 1 program.
Completion and passing of Spirit of Math’s in-person Fundamentals of Math 2. The program is one week long.
Ability to commit to regular weekly shifts from end of August to end of June.
Professional communication and classroom conduct required.
Core Responsibilities
Instructional Support
Support lesson delivery alongside the Primary Teacher.
Lead pre-assigned classroom activities such as groupwork, drills, or core topics.
Provide targeted support to new and struggling students.
Assist with homework sessions when assigned.
Maintain classroom flow while the Primary Teacher attends to individual needs or parents.
Support assessment and new students and work with them independently as required.
Independently teach or substitute teach in the absence of the primary teacher.
Classroom & Operational Support
Arrive 15 minutes before class starts (possibly earlier if requested by Principal).
Assist with classroom setup and standards upkeep.
Support transitions, engagement, and student behavior expectations.
Assist with attendance tracking and follow-up as directed.
Academic & Assessment Support
Assist with marking and preparation as assigned.
Provide observational feedback on student progress to the Primary Teacher.
Assist with updating Brightspace records as required.
