POSITION PROFILE:

Under the guidance and the supervision of the Supervisory Officer of the Moose Factory Island DSAB, the Math Lead will work collaboratively with other leads, school administrators and school staff of Moose Factory Ministik School. Duties include, but not limited to:

·         Collaborate and liaise with local Indigenous communities, organizations, students and families.

·         Will inform, monitor, and provide timely reporting of progress towards math achievement and improvement targets and lead board-wide actions to meet these targets.

·         Will also be responsible for attending Ministry learning and networking sessions, ensuring fidelity to the Ontario curriculum, and supporting the consistent and intentional implementation of high-impact instructional practices.

·         Develop parent math resources and facilitate job-embedded educator professional learning opportunities in math.

·         Attend, design and deliver professional learning sessions to facilitate the sharing of insights and promising practices.

·         Collect, maintain, analyze and report on data to support school improvement planning.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Ontario College of Teachers (O.C.T.) certificate and in good standing.

·         Post-secondary degree/masters with Ontario Supervisory Officer Level (S.O. level exemption may apply).

  • Demonstrated system leadership and success in promoting student academic achievement and specialized expertise in math where possible (e.g., hold specialist qualifications in math, experience in facilitating and/or writing additional qualification courses in math).

·         Demonstrated successful experience working and collaborating with First Nations, Metis and Inuit communities.

  • Demonstrated experience in instructional coaching, building educator and administrator capacity in mathematics teaching, and designing and monitoring school and board learning.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and implementing system change.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or understanding of collaborative approaches to promote inclusion and effectively support the diverse needs of students, including implementing universal design for learning and special education supports in the classroom.

·         Highly organized, excellent interpersonal, tact and communication skills (both verbal & written).

·         Willingness to travel on-site, where warranted, and to required local, regional and provincial meetings.

COMPENSATION:    Negotiable based on frequency of Services provided to the School Board.

DURATION/TERM:   Services Contract, for the 2026/2027 School Year.
