FUNCTION & DUTIES: Provide support for student counselors as they resolve problems arising in the classroom. Assist in re-integration of drop-out students into schools. Hold regular meetings with individual student counsellors to assist them with their case load. Support student counselors in developing tools to facilitate communication between students, teachers, parents and community. Visit classrooms when necessary. Work on resources that strengthen the students' self-image as Inuit. Provide information and advice to the school staff and Education Committee when confidentiality is not jeopardized. Maintain communication with local employers. Maintain communication with local representatives of social services. Must be able to work autonomously and respect deadlines.
