Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Complementary and Compassionate Services, the role of the Speech-Language Pathologist is to help students with speech, language, and communication challenges to achieve their academic and personal potential. Using a community-based consultative approach, the SLP works to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, oral and written language, social communication, and cognitive-communication disabilities. They work closely with classroom and special education teachers and special education technicians to support students with communication challenges and development. In collaboration with the Assistant Director of Complementary and Compassionate Services, the Special Education Technician for the visually impaired will detect, evaluate, and guide students who are visually impaired or blind and provide strategies and recommendations to support their academic success.
