The special education technician will work with students with physical or mental disabilities, social maladjustments or learning difficulties by applying special education techniques and methods both inside and outside of the students' regular class. Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Complementary and Compassionate Services, the role of the Speech-Language Pathologist is to help students with speech, language, and communication challenges to achieve their academic and personal potential. Using a community-based consultative approach, the SLP works to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, oral and written language, social communication, and cognitive-communication disabilities. They work closely with classroom and special education teachers and special education technicians to support students with communication challenges and development.
