Job Description
Teacher's Certificate / B. Education, preferably with a major in one of the following subjects: remedial education, andragogy, English - second language or English - mother tongue.
The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualification requirements if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in adult education.
- Experience in literacy teaching.
- Experience in multi-level classes.
- Experience in teaching the following subjects: English, mathematics, history, geography, biology.
- Experience in teaching English as a second language would be an asset
ASSETS:
- Knowledge and teaching of the MEES programs.
- Experience in teaching English and French as a second language.
- Knowledge of the Moodle platform.
CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
Salary & benefits as per the Teachers Collective Agreement of the Board: from $52,799 to $102,857 annually depending on experience and qualifications. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.

Educational Programs:
Seventeen primary and secondary schools and six adult education centers fall under the school board’s jurisdiction. Educational instruction is provided in three languages: Inuktitut, French, and English, ensuring that the curriculum is accessible and inclusive for all students. The curriculum prioritizes Inuit culture, language, and worldview to safeguard and advance the rich heritage of the Inuit community.
