Job Description

FUNCTION & TASKS:

Reporting to the Assistant director of Material Resources (Maintenance), the Coordinator is responsible for the following tasks: coordinating, supervising, evaluating and developing programs and activities related to the management and optimal use of the school board's material resources with respect to the caretaking of all buildings. Key responsibilities also include:
  • Coordinate sanitary maintenance work in schools and school board centers.
  • Establish, coordinate, and implement work paths as needed.
  • Maintain a record of work paths by locality.
  • Participate in the training and recruitment of employees.
  • Support center directors in managing their custodial team.
  • Coordinate the contractual management of the private company and suppliers (call for tenders, evaluation of products and services).
  • Establish inventories and place annual orders, visiting schools.
  • Plan the purchase of sanitary products and equipment according to established contracts, needs, and standardization.
  • Guide the School Board regarding its obligations related to air quality in its educational facilities.
  • Supervise, mentor and manage employees under his/her responsibility.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Assistant Directorate (Maintenance) of the Material Resources Department.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Hold an undergraduate degree in a relevant field, certifying a minimum of three years of university study, or hold a senior or managerial position.
  • Ten (10) years of relevant experience.


The School Board may, at its discretion, disregard the above qualifications if it deems the application of a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement (JBNQA) to be appropriate and the person agrees to follow a training program determined by the Board.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficiency in at least two (2) of the three (3) official languages of work of the school board (Inuktitut, French, English).
  • Proven leadership and organizational capacity skills.
  • Knowledge and preparation of a functional program for elementary or secondary school.
  • In-depth knowledge of school sanitation management.
  • Knowledge of the Act respecting contracts by public bodies.
  • Able to travel frequently to Nunavik, as required.
  • You must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of the GIESS platform (Maximo) and the PROPRE platform of GRICS, an asset.


CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:

Class 00-08 in accordance with the working conditions of Kativik Ilisarniliriniq executives: from $101,612 to $135,480 annually depending on qualifications and experience. All benefits are given as a percentage of the task.
