The Northwest Catholic District School Board encompasses a large geographical area including the communities of Fort Frances, Stratton, Dryden, Sioux Lookout and Atikokan. The Board is seeking dynamic Catholic leaders that are committed to supporting student achievement through their leadership. Their role is of vital importance in providing leadership in the school, school community and system as a whole.
 
Under the direct supervision of the Superintendent of Education, the major responsibilities of this position are to oversee the school in accordance with the requirements set out in the Education Act including:
·        Educational leadership, fiscal responsibility, planning, legislative compliance, personnel management, communication and community relations, register pupils and collect student information.
·        Giving assiduous attention to the health and comfort of the pupils, to the cleanliness, temperature and ventilation of the school, to the care of all teaching materials and other school property and to the condition and appearance of the school buildings and grounds.
·        Developing school action plans and plans for student achievement, working collaboratively with students, teachers and other school based staff members, system resource personnel, parents, the school council, community members, fellow administrators and system administrators.
 

Required Qualifications:

·        Certificate of Registration with the Ontario College of Teachers (in good standing).
·        Specialist Certification in Religious Education or the commitment to obtain.
·        Principal Qualifications Part 1 and 2 or with the commitment to complete in two (2) years.
·        Actively practicing Roman Catholic.
·        Minimum of five (5) years’ successful teaching experience.
·        Proven experience in managing and leading successful organizational change initiatives at the school or Board level.
·        The ability to build a cohesive Catholic school community in partnership with staff, students and parents is required.

·        Salary range (effective September 1, 2025): 

o    Vice Principal - $129,649 to $140,482

o    Principal - $144,696 to $158,024
