Seasonal, Summer Camp Program

Full-time hours between June 22 – August 28 2026 (Various weeks)
Volunteer Instructor

Compensation: Volunteer

 Under the supervision of the Head Instructor, the Volunteer Instructor will provide assistance within a specific sports or arts area.  The Volunteer Instructor will participate as part of a team offering support and ensuring an enjoyable experience for all campers.

Camps at Appleby College provide co-educational opportunities to develop advanced skills and promote interactive skills among participants.  Each Appleby camp has the use of superb facilities and offers access to excellent instruction.  Our programs emphasize individual development, participation, co-operation, and fun!  

As a fully accredited member of the Ontario Camps Association (OCA), we adhere to the highest standards of safety, supervision, and quality programming.  Appleby College offers the following Camp Programs: Early Discovery Camp, Arts & Media Camp, Sports & Adventure Camp, and Science & Success Camp. Please note that as of 2026 our minimum age requirements have been updated.

WHAT IS AMAZING ABOUT THIS VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:

• Work closely with the Head Instructor, providing support within assigned area
• Work co-operatively and participates in all activities of the camp program
• Ensure the safety and supervision of all campers

 YOU WILL BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU:

o   Have completed Grade 9 by the start of summer and are at least 14 Years of Age

o   Demonstrate appropriate behavior at all times

o   Are team oriented, motivational and creative

o   Are energetic and enthusiastic

o   Have good communication skills

o   Have a strong ability to work well with others and follow direction

o   Have your Standard First Aid and CPR - C

WORK SCHEDULE

• Training & Pre-Camp
  • Saturday June 13, 2026-Full Day – Volunteer Training
  • Sunday June 14, 2026- Full Day
• Camp Session Dates & Hours
  • Camp Work: as assigned Monday June 22 to Friday Aug 28

WORKPLACE REQUIREMENTS:

-        A Clear Criminal Record 

-        Standard First Aid and CPR – C (valid until the end of contract) is required
