Horticultural Summer Student (Facilities Services)
The Niagara Catholic District School Board invites applications for the position of Horticultural Student with our Facilities Services Department for the 2026 summer season.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:
- Care and upkeep of lawns and flower beds at all school locations
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, such as lawn mowers, trimmers and blowers
- Prune trees and shrubs and remove weeds and debris from outdoor spaces
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Currently enrolled in Post-Secondary Education
- Previous experience in landscaping an asset
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Good physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid "G" Driver's License
This is a full-time summer position beginning in May and ending August 28, 2026
HOURS: Daily 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday - Friday
LOCATION S : Elementary or Secondary school sites within the Niagara Catholic District School Board
RATE OF PAY: $17.60 per hour
