FUNCTION & DUTIES: Under the supervision of the Nunavik Sivunitsavut coordinator, the social service officer will work closely with the coordinator, the academic counsellor, and the students in order to create favourable conditions for students' psychosocial development and post-secondary success. Evaluate students who have social, personal, and school problems. Organize individual student support meetings. Organize behaviour management and other workshops. Take action to help defuse crisis or emergency situations. Take part in team meetings to ensure appropriate follow-up for students. Support teachers and other interveners to meet the students' needs. Take part in the development and facilitation of awareness and prevention programs. Work with partner organizations' representatives. Advise management personnel.
