Nimkee Nupigawagan provides a live-in residential treatment program for youth and young adults who are at risk of, or experiencing, substance use concerns. Services are offered to young people ages 12–17 and 18–25.
Programming is delivered in cohorts, typically organized by gender, with programs generally running for approximately 6 to 12 weeks. Specific program dates and cohort schedules should be confirmed through the current program calendar.
The treatment approach is grounded in culture, language, spirit, and healing. Young people are supported through a combination of land-based learning, individual and group counselling, arts-based activities, cultural teachings, and Elder involvement.
A central focus of the program is helping young people reconnect with themselves, their spirit, their family, their culture, and their community. The residential setting provides a structured and supportive environment where participants can focus on healing, personal growth, healthy relationships, and recovery.
