The Ontario eSecondary School is a Ministry-inspected, asynchronous private online high school, authorized to grant credits toward the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) since 2017 (BSID #667186). We serve students across Ontario, Quebec, and internationally on a continuous-intake model.
We are currently looking to hire experienced Intermediate/Senior Ontario Certified Teachers (OCT) with at least 2+ years of teaching experience to be a part of our growing team. If you are well-organized, enjoy the finer details, and love working remotely, then we would love to hear from you!
We are recruiting part-time/contract-based instructors with the following teachables in the I/S division:
- Mathematics — MCR3U, MHF4U, MCV4U, MDM4U (University); MBF3C, MAP4C, MCT4C (College)
- Chemistry — SCH3U, SCH4U (University) and SCH4C (College)
- Physics — SPH3U, SPH4U (University); SPH4C (College)
We are looking for teachers who are both qualified AND have experience teaching the above courses at the secondary level. Candidates with eLearning experience and/or experience in online learning environments such as Moodle are strongly preferred.
What You'll Do
- Assess and provide timely, meaningful feedback on student work in an asynchronous environment
- Support students via messaging and scheduled check-ins throughout their 12-month course window
- Conduct final evaluations in accordance with Growing Success, including verification of online-proctored final exams
- Uphold academic integrity, assessment, and evaluation policies consistent with Ministry of Education requirements
Qualifications
- Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT)
- Intermediate/Senior qualifications in the relevant teachable(s)
- Minimum 2+ years of secondary teaching experience in the courses listed above
- Experience with eLearning platforms (e.g., Moodle) preferred
- Strong written communication skills and comfort working independently in a remote setting
- Reliable internet connection and professional online presence
