FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES: The main and usual role of the employee in this employment category is to carry out maintenance, repair and transformation work in several construction trades. This employee performs or assists in general maintenance or preventive maintenance work on all equipment and operational systems of the school board. He must be prepared to travel and go to other villages according to a work schedule as well as in case of emergency. If necessary, he will perform any other related tasks. PROGRAM OBJECTIVES: The Plumbing and Heating program prepares students to practice the trade of pipe fitter. This trade is part of the building services sector and includes two specialties: plumbing and heating (installation of pipe fitters, modification, repair and maintenance of plumbing and heating systems). More specifically, pipe fitters work on pipes of water supply and drainage systems. They also work on pipes and other components of hydronic, steam, forced air, oil, radiant, natural gas and propane heating systems. They are interested in new technologies, in particular renewable energy (e.g. geothermal, solar). REQUIREMENTS: Fluency in two (2) of the three (3) official languages of KI (Inuktitut, English and French); Experience in adult education, and; Experience in multi-level classes.
