The Cree School Board was established in 1978 as a result of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement. Its purpose is to serve the Cree living in iiyiyiu aschii and to empower us to take control of our own education system as well as to protect our language, culture, and traditional pursuits.
Today, the Cree School Board teaches more than 5,000 students in four inland and five coastal Eeyouch communities. In addition, we offer upgrading and vocational training to hundreds of adults in iiyiyiu aschii, and social and financial support to students who pursue post-secondary education outside the Cree Nation. Our workforce is made up of 1161 employees and we would love for you to join our team!
